  1. Most of us go through our life journey with a great many wonderful and loving acquaintances. True friendship, however, is a rare blessing indeed. Phil, thank you for being a friend.

My family met Phil and Barb as new neighbors in 1999. Phil possessed a firm belief in our loving God, an unwavering loyalty and gratitude toward our nation, and enjoyed the outdoors and good food. It was many an occasion that Phil would see a light on in our house late at night and literally come knocking. I was guilty of similar behavior in reverse – sorry Barb.

We talked about God, politics, hunting, and life in general. I knew immediately this was a man I could trust with my family and my most secret thoughts. When the military moved us to new locals, our telephone conversations could easily last an hour. I bragged about him throughout the years as if he was my big brother. I will miss you greatly, my friend. But I know you are among the saints now, praising God and sharing in the glory of his loving kingdom. I look forward to seeing you again. Godspeed.

From the first time I met Phil at Kodak I knew he was a good one. Always enjoyed seeing him around. Always had a smile on. My prayers are with you and your family. It is a loss for you but he’s in a better place.
