Dianne L. Whitacre (Bartholomew) – May 20, 2017

Geneseo/Livonia: Passed to be with her Lord on May 20, 2017 at age 76 years. Predeceased by her son David Hanna and her father Spencer Bartholomew. Survived by her husband of 47 years Steve Whitacre, her son Daniel Hanna, her mother Ruth Traynor, and her sister Donna (Alfred “Tim”) Cole Jr, several nieces & nephews including special nephew Jaimie (Audrey) Cole and niece Jennifer (Dan) Korpanty. Also survived by several cousins and many special friends.

Diane was born May 16, 1941 in Warsaw, NY. She attended high school in Livonia, NY and graduated with an Associates Degree from MCC. She was employed by Rochester Products/Delphi and retired in 2000 after 30 years. She established a successful Ebay business after retirement. Dianne was a devoted mother to both sons, but was known as an especially devoted mother/caretaker to her special needs son, David, who pre-deceased her in 2015. Dianne enjoyed antiquing, antique button collecting, knitting, playing bridge, and adored the many pets she cared for throughout her life. She was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed watching all sports. Her most favorite times were spent with her loving husband of 47 years, her son Dan, and her loving family and friends.

Friends may call on Thursday, May 25th, from 5-8pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rte 15 & 20a, Livonia, where services will be held on Friday, May 26th, at 11am. Memorial contributions may be made in Dianne’s memory to Noyes Kidney Disease & Dialysis Center, 4616 Millennium Drive, Geneseo, NY 14454 or GraceLife Church, 275 East Main Street, Avon, NY 14414.   1. Dianne was the sweetest, dearest person I have ever known and I considered her my best friend from high school on. We celebrated many good times together and supported each other through the tough struggles of life. I’m so grateful for the visits we had these past 3 months…and all her text messages which I will never delete. My heart goes out to you Steve, Dan, Donna and Ruth. Please know that my prayers are with you.
