  1. Carol and Billy,

My condolences to you both – I worked as Sgt. Bastian’s secretary at LCSD from 1992-1994. Bill was a wonderful person and I was honored to work with him. This is a great loss to everyone who was blessed to have Bill in their life. God bless your family and may you find peace in the memories you have shared with Bill.

  2. Our condolences to Bill’s family. Bill was a wonderful man and role model who lived his life with integrity and kindness and always with a quick wit and great sense of humor. I will forever be appreciative of him and his guidance in getting me started in Law enforcement with LCSD. He probably never knew how much his efforts at that time had shaped me and my path in life. RIP my friend and God bless your family.

  3. As a 1967 graduating classmate of Bill’s I am sending all of you my sincere condolences. As word of his death began to pass around I reflected on my memories of him as an 18 year old. The first thing that came to mind was his hair – wavy. After military service I was surprised to learn he had become a sheriff, but not surprised that he was good at it. Bill was serious when need be and showed compassion as required. He was quick to smile, slow to anger, and enjoyed life and being with his friends. His passing is a great loss to many. May you find peace as you share treasured memories, understanding as you share tears, and love as you allow others to share your sadness.

  4. My sincere condolences to Carol, William, Cathy, Christopher and all the Grandchildren. As a fellow classmate and tennis team partner at LCS, Bill and his brothers were good friends growing up in Lakeville. Bill always had a positive approach and a great attitude on people, issues and legal matters at the Sheriff’s Dept and the jail. God Bless You Bill and the Bastian Family!
