  1. Gene was a good guy & a good friend. Sometimes I’d stay overnite with Gene & Ivan after paddocking late for Haslips in the 70s. They always made scrambled eggs in the morning that you could drink thru a straw. Talked about it to this day- miss them both

  2. Gene and Ivan lived behind us in Batavia downs trailer court. If I walked by he would say come here a minute. I would say I have to get Fred’s supper. He would keep bugging me so I would go. Next thing Fred would come – where is my supper?
HE WOULD NEVER LET ME FORGET THE TIME HE BABYSAT FOR US. LINDA WAS A BABY AND CHERIE WAS 2. LINDA WAS CRYING AND CHERIE WAS SAYING I WANT MY MOMMY. NEEDLESS TO SAY THAT WAS THE LAST TIME!
WE HAD A LOT OF FUN THROUGH THE YEARS WITH HIM.
