  1. Omg this is the saddest Norman Howard reunion ever =( he was an amazing guy one of my favorite teachers he will be greatly missed

  2. Mr. Hymen was a great teacher. Once i had a tough time in sciene class then had video class after words. He picked up on the fact and took me to talk to my science teacher. I would have continued struggling in science class if he did not help me!

  3. This was a shock to see! I haven’t seen Alan since he left the Norman Howard School a long time ago. I am thankful that I had that time with him helping our students learning about making movies and videos. He was wonderful with the students. He has always been in my heart, wondering how he was. I’m sorry I didn’t keep up with his life. He will be missed by a lot of people. My thoughts, and prayers go out to his family.I will never forget you Alan !!! RIP.

  4. When I heard…I could not believe it. He was one of my favorite teachers in middle school through high school. He will surely be missed. My deepest condolences to Mr Hymen’s family.

  5. I am a student of mr. Hymens’ he tought me a lot. There where things i learned form him i couldnt learn any where else in the world. My best wishes go out to every one he has tuched. He will be missed by so many. Its so hard to see such a great man leave this world.

  6. I am hearing this heartbreaking news belatedly. I worked with Alan for seven years at the above mentioned school. One of the reasons I lasted that long was because I always had Alan to commiserate with! He was a fierce and funny man, always outraged for the right reasons. For me, being quiet and often feeling unappreciated and out of favor, his classroom/office was a place to vent, laugh, and joke. He helped me realize that I was more than my job description and duties, and I saw that he clearly was, too.
We never socialized outside of work, and our last email correspondence was a few years ago. But he was always my friend. I already missed him, and now I know that that feeling will have to be permanent. My condolences to Alan’s sister, brother, and friends.

  7. Alan always made me smile. He brought music into our home when he generously gave us a piano he no longer had room for. That was a huge part of my kids’ childhood and paths in life. Thank you Alan. Rest in peace.

  8. Alan was a sweet and gentle soul. I will miss him deeply. I wish him well-deserved peace.

  9. So sorry to hear of Alan’s passing. I had many great conversations with him. He was a good friend. I will really miss him. Rest in peace my friend.
