Martha J. McKeown – April 4, 2016

Avon: Unexpectedly on April 4, 2016, at age 84. Predeceased by her parents Vincent and Mary Neff, her sister Helen Neff, her brother William Neff, and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Patricia McKeown, Ruth McKeown, Joanne McKeown, and Samuel McKeown, Jr.

Survived by her husband of 63 years William McKeown; children: Marilynn (Fred) Cirri of Palm Harbor, FL, Erin (William) Schmerbeck of Avon, and Christine (Daniel) Quinlan of Avon; grandchildren: Ryan (Kyle) Watson, Joshua Cirri, Anthony Rowe M.D., Ashley Quinlan and Zachary Quinlan; and great-grandchildren: Trent, Grant, and Carter Watson. Also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Sondra Neff, Peggy (David) Linton, James McKeown and David McKeown, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Martha was born on April 23, 1931, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to Vincent and Mary Neff. She was a graduate of Nunda High School and married her husband William in 1953. They had three daughters. Martha worked at Avon Central School and Farmer’s Home Administration. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo and singing while cleaning. She loved her family and friends. Martha was a woman of deep faith and a devoted parishioner at United Methodist Church in Avon.

A celebration of Martha’s life will be held on her birthday, Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the Avon United Methodist Church, 130 Genesee Street, Avon, NY 14414.   1. We were so sorry to hear about the unexpected death of your Mom. We fondly remember visiting your home on Boyd Road when we had contracted with your Uncle Bill Neff to build our home.
