Honeoye/Canandaigua: On the morning of April 21, 2015, at the age of 84, Tom went on his everlasting journey. He was born on November 26, 1930 in Rochester, NY the son of the late Lawrence and Lillian Ashmead. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Virginia (Ginny), sons Jamie and Thomas L., his granddaughter Chelsea, his daughter-in-law Jean and his special friend Wayne Toombs. Tom served in the Korean War and was a 30 year employee of Eastman Kodak, Rochester, NY. At the conclusion of his career he went on to be a volunteer with a variety of associations until his retirement in 1990.

Tom is survived by his three sons: Richard (Marilyn), Johnny (Kelly), and Robert (Barb). Grandchildren: Thomas G., Elizabeth J., Robert F., Jonathan L., and Austin C. His lifelong friends James Burchard Jr., Marie Toombs and Thomas Sweeney, their families and many other cousins and friends.

A very special thank you to the Ontario Yates Hospice Team and his wonderful and devoted caretakers who stood by him allowing him to pass away at home with dignity and grace: Kristina Burchard, Anna Villard and Marilyn Leonard.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, April 26th, from 2– 5pm at Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 8624 Main St., Rte. 20A, Honeoye, NY, where services will be celebrated on Monday, April 27th , at 11 am with Rev. Jeri Kober officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Honeoye, NY immediately following the service. Memorials contributions may be made to Abbey Industries, 3071 County Complex Drive, Canandaigua, NY 14424.     Tom was a good man and we had a lot of fun w/ him & Ginny and the Burchsrds .
    We will miss his happy go lucky self . He always made you feel so good .

    Today I looked into the sky and it was beautiful.
    I realized it was because your dad was up there.
    He flies with the angels now and part of him will always
    be with us. My heart grieves with you during this difficult
