Follow Me, by C. Lee

Long I wandered, deep in thought
Trying to find my way.
Stumbling here, turning there…
Until the trees all looked the same.

“Follow me,” the pine tree whispered.
“Walk this way,” the steambed called.
Joyously, I listened then,
For in the wind I heard the call.

“Follow Me,” it gently said.
“You’ll find your heart’s delight.
Come walk with Me, my precious friend.
Come, let me be your guide.”

While we walked I learned of love,
Of joy and peace and faith.
The woods grew dim; the path, more straight
With Jesus as my guide.

  1. Vivian’s trademark smile will be sorely missed by the Avon Class of 1959’s Lunch Bunch. We girls and we will always be girls at heart would gather once a month at an area restaurant to keep up contact with our fellow classmates. Vivian was a wonderful friend in high school and she was a wonderful friend right up to the end for all of us. I still have pixs of our senior trip to Washington! I wish I could make your calling hours, Vivian, but this dang foot operation will keep me housebound for another month. Hugs for all your wonderful children. Love, Susan Swanton

  2. This world has lost a wonderful woman. She will be missed. To the Gates family: I am sorry to hear of the loss of Mrs. Gates. She and her family are in my thoughts and prayers. (Unit Clerk @ MCH, Hope 2).

  3. Vivian was my dearest, most closest, friend. We had known each other for 30 years and had been through many good and many bad times together. I will miss her so much for the rest of my life. Lord willing I will see her again and we will both sing in the heavenly choir. Love ya Viv baby!
