Lakeville: August 26, 2014 at home at age 63 years. Survived by his wife of 40 years Charlene Korndoerfer. Children; S. Kyle (Mary) Korndoerfer of Henrietta and Shareen (Donald Graham) Korndoerfer of Fairport. Grandchildren Ainsley & Tyler Korndoerfer. Brothers; Paul (Molly) Korndoerfer of Lakeville and Kenneth Korndoerfer of NC. Aunt Sue Fischer of Rochester, mother-in-law Donelda Gary of Victor, brothers-in-law James (Kathy) Gary and Frederick (Nancy) Gary both of Farmington. Sister-in-law Juanita (Eric Ingraham) Kelly of NC. Several nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, great-great niece, and many friends. Special thank you to his cousin Joyce Larson of Groveland and hospice nurse Joanne McKeown.

Steve was born on November 8, 1950 in Rochester, NY to parents Harry and Marjorie (Fischer) Korndoerfer. He attended St. Boniface Grammer School, Livonia Central School Class of 1970, and also RIT. He was an avid bowler, past secretary for the Livingston Merchants, a 45 year member of the Lakeville Fire Department and Exempt Club, and past assistant Boy Scout Leader of Troop 174. He loved the outdoors, hiking, backpacking, and the water. He was a pyrotechnician for Young Explosives for over 25 years. He was a 40 year employee of SPX Corporation (the former Lightnin Corporation) in Rochester, NY. Steve was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Friends may call on Friday from 5-8pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree St., Rte 15 & 20A, Livonia. Funeral Mass Saturday at 10:30am at St. Matthew Church, 6591 Richmond Mills Road, Rte 20A, Livonia. Burial St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wilmot Cancer Center, 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14642 or the Livingston County Hospice, 2 Murray Hill Dr., Mt. Morris, NY 14510.   1. I am sorry to hear about Steve; we were in High School together. He was a great guy then and glad to hear he had a wonderful marriage and family. The Lord will ease your grief with time; treasure the time you had with him.

    He will be missed by many.

  11. Char & Family-I just heard about Steve from Mom after her return from visiting last weekend. There are no words that help lesson the loss of a spouse or any loved one and I am truly saddened at this time for all of you. I will be praying for God to comfort and hold you close through this hard time in your life. Know that we are all thinking of you and love you always.
    I will always remember him as a very nice loving man.
