Conesus: July 9, 2014 at age 86 years. Survived by his wife of 63 years Jane (Mulvaney) Windsor, faithful K9 companion Dewy, and children; Debbie (Steve) Dinsmore of CA, Pam (David) Young of Livonia, Peg Woodruff of Livonia, Dee (John) Piasta of Honeoye, David (Dana) Windsor of TX, Chris (Debbie) Windsor of UT. 18 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces & nephews, and many friends. Don was a US Navy Veteran and was a retiree of Rochester Telephone Co. Devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend to many.

Donald D. Windsor was a man of strength, wisdom and integrity. He was married to his true love Jane Ruth for almost 64 years. Together they had six children, who brought meaning to and completed their lives together. Don was known as a hard worker, a compassionate husband, loving father, and very dear friend. Over the years Don enjoyed raising his children and watching his grand children and great-grandchildren grow. He spent many years devoted to the Catholic Church, Rotary and giving back to the community in any way he could. His most cherished memories come from traveling with his beloved Jane all over the world. There was nothing he couldn’t fix, and nobody he wouldn’t help. Remembering his sense of humor, tender heart, and tight hugs is what we will carry forever. He taught us how to love and how to be loved, the true meaning of devotion and loyalty. We will never forget you. Until we meet again my angel, rest in peace.

Friends may call on Sunday, July 13th, from 2-5pm at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 21 Big Tree Street, Rte 15 & 20A, Livonia. Don’s funeral mass will be held on Monday, July 14th, at 10:30am at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 6591 Richmond Mills Road, Rte 20A, Livonia. Memorial contributions may be made in Don’s memory to the Livonia Rotary Club, PO Box 307, Livonia, NY 14487 or St. Matthew Catholic Church, PO Box 77, Livonia, NY 14487. So sorry to hear of Don’s passing. Such a kind and thoughtful person who loved his family so much. Whenever I saw Don and Jane out and about when I would visit my mother I made a point to say hello. He always made you feel like you made his day when, in fact, he made yours by making you feel special.

  13. Dear Jane and all the Windsor family,

We are still shocked from hearing about Don’s passing from our world to his promised reward.
Our words inadequately convey and understate our feelings of compassion for you and your family,Jane. Many memories of the fun filled experiences that we shared together with you and Don, tend to offset the temporary void that now exists in our lives. But the HOPE in believing the promise that we will one day, experience the JOY of being together again in a much better place, is comforting.

With our warm thoughts and prayers,
    Jim & Joan Young
