Pop was born in Warsaw New York on August 16th, 1957 and was raised in Perry. He married the love of his life on Valentine’s Day in 1976 and raised their two children in Avon. He loved his family and worked very hard for everything they had. He was extremely generous and had an aura about him that was literally contagious. Everyone who met him liked him, he had more friends than anyone could ever count. His favorite things in the world were motorcycles and Elvis Presley. If you talk to anyone about him they would just laugh and smile because they had heard him sing Elvis or dance like him. He owned a few different bikes before he finally got his first Harley and never strayed from them after. He organized numerous poker runs for charities including the Make a Wish Foundation and the Pluta Cancer center. He was a gentle, loving, caring man and was super strong. He worked up until he found out that he was sick. He left us a little over a month later. This shows you just how strong he really was. Working at Sweetners Plus and being himself until he was diagnosed with stage 4 advanced cancer. He will be sorely missed by his entire family although we all know that he did everything he ever could for us, even when he couldn’t do something for us, he found a way to make it happen. We all love you and are proud of you Pop, we will miss you.

  1. Our thoughts and prayers our with Owens family, We will be here if you need us.
My Brother you will be GREATLY missed. Ride Free, Rest In Peace.

  2. Owen was a great guy to work with. A few years ago, I walked into the dispatch office and he said he was “Handsome Man”. I laughed so hard with him and Mark. I called him that ever since. Owen helped all of us either with directions or some other aspects of our job to make it easier at delivery. He asked Karen and I to do our Santa and Mrs. Claus act to Fat Sams a few years ago and he made it a huge success. I remember his 50th birthday party there, a night to remember indeed.
Well Handsome Man, we are all thinking of the good times we shared and you will always be in our thoughts and memories.
May God bless your soul and bless your loving family…

  3. Tanya and kids, No words an express how sorry I am. Owen was a great friend and neighbor. I wish I could tell you some magic words and make everything better, but unfortunily there aren’t any. I’m just hoping Mark and Owen are throwing a few back and taking a long ride in paradise! I am always here for whatever you need. I’ll stop by next week. Love to you all.

  4. Owen, was the happiest guy and lived to it fullness. He would do anything for anyone. My Deepest Sympathy to Owen’s Family, he will be missed.

  5. Although Elvis’ time with us was short, he was an awesome part of our extended family. There wasn’t anything he would’t do for us. He had a heart of gold and wore it on his sleeve. It is ironic all he did for those inflicted with this terrible disease, it would take him too. Our deepest and sincere condolences to all of Elvis’ family. Our thoughts and prayers are with each and everyone of you in the days and weeks ahead…
