  1. I remember my Uncle Fred first and foremost as a warm, welcoming host and a tremendous, fun-loving presence. In retrospect I probably passed my Uncle Fred in height when I was 12 years old or so, but I NEVER thought of him as short because he was such a VERY BIG personality. Our family has no shortage of comedians, but his wit was in a class by itself. He will always have a special place in my memories and in my heart. Hey, Uncle Floyd–I’m ALMOST as funny as you, but I bow forever to the Master!

  2. Freddy sure will be MISSED by us on Old Orchard Point ~ Loved his morning visits for coffee hour ~ Always had a smile on his face ~ We sure do have a lot of fun memories to look back on ~ RIP friend ~ Thoughts are with you Marilyn an family ~

  3. It’s been 19 years now but I can remember a couple weeks after my Mother passed.. Fred had called to check in and see how everyone was doing, as he did so often. I had happened to answer the phone that night and said “yeah, we’re doing okay, Dad’s a little down right now, kind of a tough night for him.” Without hesitation I heard him yell to Marilyn, “hey, come on, lets go, Lee needs us tonight” I’m not sure, they might have had dinner ready or were about to settle in for the night but it didn’t matter, within five minutes they were at the house. We all hung out, had a few beverages:) Marilyn played the piano a bit and Freddie made us laugh. Thanks so much for being there.

  4. Terri,
I’m so sad to hear about the passing of your father. I never had the pleasure of meeting him when we were all in high school but I know he was a wonderful man from the memories you’ve shared through the years. Take care.

  5. Every kid should have an Uncle Freddy. I am so blessed to have memories of this wonderful man, so quick to laugh and so warm to everyone he met. I am grateful that my children also knew Uncle Freddy through the family reunions with sunny days on the boats and storytelling at night around the campfire. There was a lot of celebration and laughter every time Uncle Freddy was around and for that I will always love him and smile when I remember him.

  6. Terry, sorry to hear about your dad. Seems like there are a lot of good memories of him to hold in your heart. Keep smiling kiddo.

  7. Uncle Fred my Uncle, Godfather, and a special mentor who gave the utmost sound advice even though I didn’t always listen. I came back and said you were right Uncle Fred. Boy! did he know cars. Always there to help you through life. My tears are dropping from my eyes wishing GOD knows how he loved us all in a special way only Uncle Fred could do. My heart breaks and am so sad but know in my heart you are in heaven with all that were close to you in life. Uncle Fred get in that 57T-Bird and speed off to heaven and no farts on the way. I love you and pray that you have eternal peace forever!!! LOVE your GODSON and nephew STEPHEN…

  8. When I was a kid this man taught me how to catch, clean and prepare fish, how to drive a boat, ride a lawnmower, and how NOT to do anything electrical. His stories and phrases will be passed down to my daughter Jaylin (his great granddaughter) and told for many years to come. We’re going to miss you Grandpa.
