Edward L. Palmer – February 28, 2018

Livonia: February 28, 2018 at age 74 after a valiant battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Martha (Maloney) Palmer of Livonia; daughters Cari (Tim) Lord of Amesbury, MA, and Jennifer (Paul) Brooker of Penfield; grandchildren Paul and Anna Brooker; sister Lynne (Roger) Wilhelm of Huntington Beach, CA; sister-in-law Mary Kay (Tom) Martin of Hilton Head, SC; several nieces and nephews, and many special friends. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Ivan and Mary Elizabeth (Coiley) Palmer.

Ed served his country in the US Navy and was a retiree of Rochester Telephone Company. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying time spent fishing and caring meticulously for his lawn and garden. His greatest devotion was to his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Barbara L. Stewart ~ February 25, 2018

Conesus: Barbara L. Stewart passed away peacefully on February 25, 2018 at the age of 88. She is survived by her children, David (Barbara) Stewart Jr, of Conesus, Bonita (Walter) Breitigam of South Carolina, James (Debra) Stewart of Tennessee, Barbara Jane Wright of Florida, and Deborah Stewart of Geneseo, along with grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Stewart.

Barb had been living in Geneseo but was formerly a long time resident of East Lake Road in Conesus. She retired from nursing at the Livingston County Infirmary when it was located in Geneseo. In retirement she enjoyed reading mysteries and crocheting afghans for her family members.

Kathleen A. Hubble (Kuhn) – February 24, 2018

Honeoye: Kathy passed away peacefully on February 24, 2018 at age 59, with family by her side after a brief illness. She is predeceased by her parents; Donald and Elizabeth; her step “Ma”, Alice Kuhn, Aunt Dorothy Kuhn; and her son, Sean P. She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, David; her sons David (D) Hubble, Shane Hubble, and Ryan Hubble; Brother Dan (Cindy) Kuhn; sister, Cheryl (Greg) Bailey; and so many family and friends.

Kathy was a breast cancer survivor, a loving mother, and caregiver to anyone who needed one. Many people in town knew her as the “sub lady” at Shurfine where she was known to pack the subs a little extra full so that no one would go hungry. The family wishes to extend a big thank you to the staff at UR Thompson’s ICU for the wonderful and heartfelt care she received.

John W. Martin II – February 20, 2018

Canandaigua: John passed away on February 20, 2018 at age 84. He is predeceased by his parents John Harold and Catherine Klem Martin, sister Elizabeth Birecree and brother David Martin. John is survived by his wife Elizabeth (McAdam) Martin, sons Stephen Martin (Ann), John W. Martin, III (Elaine), grandchildren Zachary Martin (Taylor), John W. Martin IV, Meredith Martin, Ann Marie Martin, and Matthew Martin, many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

He attended and graduated from SUNY Geneseo, served in the US Army, taught history for 33 years at Honeoye Central School. He loved his family, his home, friends, nature and sports of all kinds, most especially the Sabres, SU Orange and his beloved Baltimore Orioles.

Bonnie E. Coons – February 20, 2018

Livonia: Passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the age of 76. Predeceased by her Mother; Eleanore Donovan, Brother; Donald Kerr. Survived by her children; eldest Timothy O. Coons, and his wife Julie, daughter Jacquelyn Boyd, husband Darrell, children Braeden and Mikaylah, daughter Kristen Coons, son Jaimeson, wife Jena, and son Declan; middle Thomas B. Coons, and his wife Karen, daughter Allie, son Joshua, youngest William C. Coons, and his wife Shelley, son Cullen, daughter Madison, Brothers; Richard Kerr, Michael Kerr, Sister; Patricia Uhart. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends.

Bonnie enjoyed working for several years at Qualcomm in San Diego, CA where she proudly served as an Executive Assistant, friend, and associate to many wonderful co-workers that she affectionately stayed in touch with since retiring in 2007. She also attended hundreds of games and events to support her son’s and grandchildren who participated in multiple sports, mainly lacrosse, and competing at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels. She often would jump in the car and drive several hours on her own to attend no matter what the climate.

Richard L. Pragle – February 20, 2018

Livonia: Peacefully on February 20, 2018 at age 70. Predeceased by his parents Lewy and Caroline Pragle, brother Wayne Kurelko, and sisters; Donna Springer and Charlotte Northrop. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Catherine (Stymus) Pragle and sons; Travis Pragle (Joette Nagle) of York, Jeremy (Nicole) Pragle also of York, and Cory (Wendy) Pragle of Hemlock; grandsons, Jesse and Jason Pragle; sister Iva Johnson of Springwater, and several nieces & nephews.

Richard was born on November 18, 1947 in Wayland, NY. Dick graduated from Livonia High School and was later drafted for the US Army serving in Vietnam from 1967-1969. After his military service he worked at Wilmot Castle Co. in Rochester, NY which later became Getinge. He retired from Getinge after 44 years of service. Dick lived for his sons, grandsons, and family. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed teaching hunters safety for both gun and bow. Dick was a back yard mechanic fixing whatever he could including auto body work. If he couldn’t fix it, it couldn’t be fixed.

Sondra Lee Neff ~ February 18, 2018

Avon: February 18, 2018 at age 81. Predeceased by her husband William and son Timothy Neff. Survived by her children, Janeen Flagg, Diana (Brady) Cooper, and Darlene (Scott) Miller. 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren

Sondra was married to the love of her life William J. Neff for 50 years,and had four children. Raised their family mostly in Alaska, where she and her husband were commercial fisherman. They then moved back to Livingston County to build and settle here for retirement.

Sondra loved gardening, reading, quilting and crafts. Her family was her life and was very proud of each of them. Sondra was a fighter, she faced all of her challenges head on and always taught us to never give up. She is a hard act to follow.

Jean F. Seager ~ February 18, 2018


Fairport: Jean passed peacefully with her family at her side on February 18, 2018. She was predeceased by her parents Frederick & Flora Fisher. Survived by her sister Lu Stevens of Salt Spring Island, B.C. and her two nephews Paul Schwingle of Naples, NY and Andrew Stevens of Victoria, B.C. Also survived by numerous cousins and friends.

Jean retired from Xerox after 37 years of service. Jean’s work was recognized by receiving several awards of excellence throughout her career. In her teen years Jean became the 1957 4-H New York State Bread Champion.

Most recently Jean cared for her mother at FF Thompson Continuing Care Center. After her mother passed Jean became the “Candy Cart Lady” for years which she enjoyed very much. Jean will be missed by her family and many, many close friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 3rd, 11:00am at the Miller Funeral and Cremation Services of Victor, 301 West Main St., Victor. Burial will be held privately. Gordon A. Rowley – February 16, 2018

Honeoye: February 16, 2018 at age 74. Predeceased by parents Raymond and Thelma Rowley and his brothers Robert and Stanley Rowley. Gordon is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean Rowley and sons; Ronald Rowley of NJ and Michael Rowley of FL. Also survived by siblings; Raymond Rowley of Victor and Alice (David) Mayewski of Caledonia; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Gordon was born on August 16, 1943 in Lima, NY to parents Raymond and Thelma Rowley. He graduated from Honeoye School and shortly after he married Jean (Whiteman) Rowley on August 15, 1964. Gordon worked at Eastman Kodak for 29 years before retiring in 1991. After retirement he ran his own farm for many years on County Road 37 in Richmond, NY.

Jack D. Centner “Poppie” ~ February 15, 2018

Honeoye: February 15, 2018 at age 73. Predeceased by his parents, Donald H. and Elizabeth A. Doak Centner. Survived by his wife Carolyn J. Gipp Centner of Honeoye and daughter Tina (Ron) Gilbert of Dansville. Two grandchildren Kasey and Chloe of Dansville. Brothers, Bruce (Cheryl) of Virginia, and Keith (Terri) of Las Vegas. Sister, Donna (Robert) Weichec of North Tonawanda. Several nieces and nephews and friends.

Jack was born February 15, 1945 in North Tonawanda, NY the son of the late Donald and Elizabeth Centner. He and Carolyn were married on January 22, 1966 in Grace Church in North Tonawanda, NY and have celebrated 52 years of marriage. Jack had been employed as an Industrial Arts Teacher at Wayland Central School where he retired from in 1996. After retiring from the school, he was employed at The Furniture Doctor in Bloomfield for 4 years. Then he went on to be a Code Enforcement Officer for the Town of South Bristol where he had worked 10 years, retiring in February of 2011. He also ran a gun shop in Naples for 3-4 years. He enjoyed spending time at Honeoye Lake, fishing and boating. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

James H. Stewart Jr. “Jim” – February 12, 2018

Conesus: Jim passed away peacefully on Monday, February 12, 2018 at age 79, surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Marion (Waden) Stewart, brother Larry Stewart, and his sisters Arlene Nowack and Carol Gouthro. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara (Rankin) Stewart; children, Dave (Chrissy), Bob (Monica), Patty (Chris) Genthner; grandchildren, Molly, Hayley, Kelsey, Robbie, Lucas, Tom, Nathan, Jillian, and Natalie; sisters, Diane Stewart and Donna (Gene) Morsch, sister-in-law Dotty Stewart, and Aunt Esther Sharpe. Also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Jim taught in Dansville for 31 years and also coached the cross country team for 26 years. He will be remembered for his kindness to others, his calm demeanor and his love of his family and friends.

Jim was a member of the Conesus United Church for over 50 years, served in the US Navy from June 1957 until January 1962, served as a Conesus Fire Commissioner for 21 years, and was the Conesus Zoning Inspector for many years. He was elected to the Section V Cross Country Hall of Fame for coaching and was also inducted into the Dansville Central School Hall of Fame. He loved to watch his children and grandchildren play sports, loved the Buffalo Bills, the New York Yankees, and Syracuse Basketball. He was a score keeper for the Wayland-Cohocton Softball Team for 25 years and was the time keeper for the Honeoye Cross Country Team. Jim also enjoyed to work at the Hemlock Fair in the sawmill, liked hunting, working in the barn, and enjoyed nature.

Kathleen L. McNichols “Kathy” (Morris) – February 6, 2018

Avon/Daytona Beach, FL: Kathy passed peacefully surrounded by her family on February 6, 2018, at age 64, after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by daughter Naomi Ruth McNichols. Survived by her husband of 42 years, Walter James McNichols III and children; Patricia (Mark) Guenther of Livonia, Caleb McNichols (Shanah Alexander) of FL, Kevin McNichols (Krista Berry) of Rochester, Samuel (Karen) McNichols of Rochester, Joshua McNichols of Rochester; parents Ernest and Naomi Morris of FL; siblings, Patty (Neal) Davis of FL, Stacy Morris (Ken Kasten) of FL, and Maria (Dan) Hartsough of IL. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Kathy graduated from Father Lopez High School, Daytona Beach, Florida, class of 1971. She attended University of Florida, “Go Gators”. Kathy graduated from Daytona Beach Community College with an Associates Degree in Psychology and graduated with an AAS from Genesee Community College. She worked as a registered nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital. Kathy won the “Spirit of Nursing” award and “Employee of the Month” award.

She played softball in a girl’s league in her youth and loved watching all sports. Kathy loved watching Notre Dame football with her Dad, playing basketball hoops with her sons and loved playing with her doggies.

Kathy was a very loving and kind person and was a Certified Counselor to help those in need. Kathy had a terrific sense of humor and a wonderful outlook on life. She had a unique, crazy life and she said she “wouldn’t change a thing”. She was ready to “move on up” to Heaven to be with Jesus and see Naomi Ruth, Aunt Alice, Grandma Painter and her beloved dog, Gracie.

Richard J. Kosakowski Sr. – February 3, 2018

Livonia: Peacefully on February 3, 2018 at age 82. Predeceased by his wife Alice (Clark) Kosakowski in 2000. Survived by his loving companion Betty Gallagher; children, Rick Kosakowski (Rosemarie Maldonado) of GA, Linda (Walter) Masiewicz of Buffalo, Stacey (Mark) Lewis of Pittsford, and Mark (Christine) Kosakowski of Livonia; grandchildren, Elyse Kosakowski, Brandon Kosakowski, Jason Masiewicz, Marissa Lewis, Kevin Lewis, Zachary Kosakowski, and Jeremy Kosakowski. Dick was born on February 27, 1935 in Rochester, NY to parents John and Mildred (Nickerson) Kosakowski. He graduated from Livonia High School in 1953. Shortly after he married Alice Clark Kosakowski and they were married for over 45 years before she passed in 2000. Dick loved to camp and be outdoors, had a great knowledge of cars, and loved his family. He was a loving father and grandfather.

David W. McDonald – February 2, 2018

Livonia: David passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on February 2, 2018 at age 69. Predeceased by his parents William and Katherine (Bailey) McDonald and his mother-in-law Aida Lippa. Survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Andrea (Lippa) McDonald and children; Sean McDonald (Carla Muranyi) of Geneseo and Jesica (Fr. Michael) Ellis of OH; grandchildren, Alex and Sophia Ellis; siblings, Jeanette (David) Dill, Raymond McDonald, and Judy (Ernie) Capone. David was born on February 27, 1948 in Rochester, NY to parents William and Katherine McDonald. He graduated from Gates-Chili High School in 1967 and later attended the Rochester Institute of Technology. Dave served his country in the Army National Guard. He married Andrea on September 27, 1969 and they were married for 48 blessed years. Dave started DSA Precision Machining after working at Jasco Tools as a machinist and manufacturing engineer until his retirement.
