Jim was born on April 28, 1923 in Rochester, NY to parents George and Neva (Rightmyer) Henry. He served his country in the US Army during WWII in the Philippines. Jim was a member of the Livonia Senior Citizens and also belonged to the American Legion.

Conesus/Lakeville: Walter R. “Butch” Nichols, 76 years, of Conesus formerly of Lakeville, died Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Rochester General Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past week. Butch was born in Middletown, NY, January 2, 1940, the son of Walter R. Nichols, Sr. and Gertrude R. Burch Nichols. He was a graduate of Livonia Central School and most of his employment years were spent with Midland Asphalt Materials. For a period of time, he operated Asphalt Enterprises in Livonia. He was a member of the Lakeville United Church of Christ, a life member of the Conesus Lake Sportsmen’s Club. He had previously served on the Board of Directors of the Hemlock Fair Society.

Predeceased by parents Walter and Gertrude Nichols, brother Daniel Nichols and sister Deborah King . Damian Morton was a charismatic, genuine, and loving man. If you’ve ever met Damian you know he was the type of person anyone could love. From the moment he first met her, he loved his daughter Lilia more than anything in the world. He liked to hunt, hike, and also loved some good fishing. He enjoyed meeting new people and people’s company in general. Damian liked to spend his days with family and friends, experiencing all that life had to offer. He knew we all make mistakes and was always willing to forgive those he loved. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Survived by step-children; Patricia Genthner of Livonia, Connie Watts of CO, Mary Jo Tisa of CA, Sandra (Raymond) Jenkins of CO, and William (Dawn) Brennan of Lakeville. 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister Jane Nunn of MA, nieces; Esther Nunn and Elizabeth Mueller, nephew Bruce Nunn, and lifelong friend and colleague Bruce Mills M.D. of Gorham.

Dr. Brennan practiced family medicine and obstetrics in Honeoye, NY and the surrounding area for over 30 years. She was a graduate of Bucknell University, Temple Medical School and completed her residency at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover, New Hampshire.

Upon her retirement, she was recognized by the Honeoye community for her dedication and service. Her proudest accomplishment was the delivery of close to 800 babies during her career.

Dr. Brennan was passionate about animals and had a love for the outdoors. She was an avid gardener and traveled extensively throughout the world.

The family extends their sincere appreciation to the Ewing Continuing Care Center for the exceptional care and kindness given to Dr. Brennan. Special thanks to all the nurses and medical staff especially Dr. Leslie Meyers.

Connie was born on June 8, 1922, in Honeoye, New York to parents William and Mary (Lyon) Pennell. She married her husband John VanDerKamp on May 3, 1941. Connie spent a lot of her time giving swim lessons to youngsters from “baby” classes which included Abby Wambach, to visually impaired young people. She belonged to a synchronized swim group in Rochester. In the summer time she would give lessons to the youth in Honeoye. In 1974 John and Connie moved back to Honeoye full time. Connie became the “craft lady” for the Honeoye Recreation Program. She was also active in the Eastern Star for many years. She would also help as “Mrs. Claus” at the breakfast with Santa. Every summer she would donate as much time as she could to Camp Joy at the Rotary Sunshine Camp. She truly enjoyed playing cards, euchre was the name of her game!

Predeceased by three infant children; George, Elizabeth, and Joseph; parents, Theodore & Coralyn Doner; brothers, Theodore Doner Jr., Walter Doner, and Claire “Buzz” Doner, and daughter-in-law Mary Ann Brol. Survived by her husband, of 58 years, Gerald Brol of Livonia; children, Paul (LeeAnne) Brol of Henrietta, Raymond (Karen) Brol of Canadice, Timothy Brol of Springwater, and Pamela (Jeffrey) Dailey of Avon. Rae was born on March 22, 1938 in Salamanca, NY to parents Theodore & Coralyn (Harold) Doner. She was an active member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Livonia Silver Sneakers group, and the Livonia Senior Citizens. When she was younger she enjoyed oil painting, including portraits and outdoors scenes. She also collected dolls, enjoyed flower gardening, playing cards, and going to craft shows. Rae enjoyed spending time with family and watching her grandchildren. Rae was easy to talk with and easily made friends wherever she was. She was always there when someone needed her and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.

Tom was born October 22, 1955, graduated Livonia HS in 1973. He was the Vice President of Operations at Applied Energy Solutions in Caledonia. Tom loved and lived life to the fullest. An avid golfer and a long time member of Conesus Golf Course, known by his fellow golfers as “Mr. Gadget”. He loved his party boat and was a member of the Conesus Lake Association. Tom’s deep compassion for responsible pet ownership is evident in the numerous adoptions he and his wife Deb have had over the years. He leaves behind his two rescues, Beau and Megan. Tom’s joy of life and constant sense of humor will be sorely missed by all who had the good fortune to know and love him.

Hazel was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, and sister who always put the needs of others ahead of her own. She often invited the children from the neighborhood into her home to play and have snacks. She loved being outdoors and spending time with her dogs Sammy and Percy. Hazel was also a life long bingo player, she made life long friends at Lakeville Bingo on Thursday nights. Hazel was also a working mother, she was in quality control at Kaddis Manufacturing for 26 years and often worked side jobs in local restaurants including J.J. Leisures in Lakeville.

Livonia: Robert J. Miller of Livonia, NY passed away peacefully after a brief illness on February 5, 2016, at the age of 86. His daughter was by his side. Predeceased by his parents Robert James and Elizabeth Rose (Mesco) Miller, and his sister Elizabeth Barazia. Survived by his wife Patricia R. (O’Dell) Miller and daughter Susanne (Gregory) Allen of Livonia, NY, his brother-in-law Andy Barazia and two nephews. He is greatly missed by the family’s cats who eagerly gathered for treat-time and enjoyed sleeping on his lap.

Bob was born in Brooklyn, NY, and often fondly reminisced about exploring the woods close to his home growing up. He found his niche in school by joining the Midwood High School Rifle Team. He later went on to become an NRA instructor and lifetime member. He served in the National Guard, and opened his own sporting goods shop in Brooklyn where he did gunsmithing for many years.

He and his wife built a home in the upstate hamlet of Old Chatham, NY. There he set up a successful woodworking business, where he produced many custom pieces of furniture. He made items for several historic homes and museums in the Hudson Valley. Upon retiring, he moved to Melbourne, FL where he spent his time building large models of sailing ships, restoring a boat, and going to fleamarkets. He also continued his lifelong hobby of photography.
After many years in the sunshine, Bob returned to New York State. He made many contributions to his daughter’s old-house restorations and built several beautiful pieces of furniture. He entertained the cats and they entertained him heartily. Bob delighted in armchair adventures around the world, often staying with an old friend at 221B Baker St. He found a renewed love of reading, and amassed a huge library of mystery novels, as well as firearm, woodworking and sailing books.

He was born in Queens, NY, June 2, 1919 the son of Charles A. Leary Sr. and May Stritch Leary. A Navy veteran, he belonged to the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Charles was a member of St. Matthews Church and was a longtime sheet metal mechanic employed in Rochester, lastly, with Ontario Metal Supply.
