Avon: The matriarch of the McKeown Family passed unexpectedly on December 30, 2016 at age 82 years. Survived by her husband of 60 years Vincent McKeown Sr. and children; Jeanne (Mark) Simpson, Vincent (Mary) McKeown Jr., Mary Minster, Joseph McKeown, John McKeown, Patricia McKeown, Kristine (Steve) Kornegay, Bridgett Ellis, and Shaun McKeown. Grandchildren; Jenna Simpson (John Gilsenan), Ryan (Jessica) Simpson, Trevor Simpson (Courtney Mahoney), Vincent William (Shannan) McKeown, Amanda McKeown (Alexander Kunkel), Blake Minster, Olivia Minster, Taylor Kornegay, Katie Grace Kornegay, Rachel Kornegay, Brooke Ellis, Colin Ellis, and Kyle Ellis. Great-grandchildren, Evelyn McKeown and Kelly McKeown. Also survived by siblings Shirley Tortoretti and Linda Wardell, sisters and brother in law, several nieces and nephews, and dear friends.

Gloria was a long time member of the Avon community and was a past manager and 40 year employee of Tom Wahl’s in Avon.

Glendale, AZ./Livonia,NY – William J. Bastian, 67 died Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Horizon Assisted Living home after a long struggle with health issues.

Bill is survived by his wife, Carol (Thyret) Bastian, his son William and step children, Cathy (Louth) Horton and Christopher Louth. He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Ally (Louth) Dickey, Truman Louth, Tanner Horton, Caleb Horton, Cole Horton, Tyla Bastian, and one great- grandchild, Camryn Dickey.

Born and raised in Rochester, New York, his parents, George and Margaret (Doherty) Bastian moved to Conesus Lake where he graduated from Livonia High School in 1967.

In September 1968 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he was a Boatswain Mate, 2nd class until August 1972. He received the National Defense Award.

After serving with the U.S. Navy, Bill joined the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department in Geneseo, New York. During his twenty years of service, his loyalty, dedication and integrity moved him up through the ranks to retire as Major.

Bill had a passion for politics and also served as a Town Councilman for Livonia, New York for eight years.

After retirement Bill and his family moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he has resided for the past twenty-two years. During the first thirteen years, Bill held the position of Vice President of Operations for Elyte ATM, taking charge of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and parts of Nevada.

Wherever Bill lived and worked, he was ethical, kind, loyal and fun-loving. His family and friends will miss him.

Services will be held on January 6, 2017 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix, AZ 85024.

Neil G. G. Abbott ~ December 27, 2016

Neil G.G. Abbott of Livonia passed away on December 27, 2016 at age 77.

Neil is survived by his cherished wife, Jacqueline L. Abbott; children Dawn Priestley (Jim) of Bloomfield NY, Carleen Fletcher (Rick) of Easton WI, and John (Pam) Wagner of Springwater NY; grandchildren Katie Wagner and Joshua Wagner; sister Agnes Eaton of Chatham NY; brother-in-law Carl Harris of Palmyra NY; nephews Charles (Kelly) Harris and Jerry Harris; and many dear friends.

Neil was predeceased by his parents Charles and Theresa Abbott, wife Madeline, sister Jane Harris and brother David Abbott.

Neil was commissioned an Air Force 2nd Lieutenant in 1962 after having completed ROTC at Denison University and served at Brooks Air Force base in San Antonio TX. He transferred to Vietnam in January 1966 where he served in Cameron Bay and Saigon. He then transferred to Ellison Air Force Base SD in January 1967. After 12 years of active duty, he retired at the rank of Captain in May 1974. Neil then had a second career of 28 years with NYS OPWDD.

Neil was a great patron of the arts, himself performing at the Linwood Summer Theater for 20 years. He supported and enjoyed years of Bristol Valley Theater, and the Stratford and Shaw Festivals of Ontario Canada. Neil absolutely enjoyed his family and extensive friends, wintering in N. Ft. Myers FL, and cruising the world. He was an active member of the American Legion, VFW and Conesus Lake Association. Neil always enjoyed his family and friends, his cats, a good book and a smooth brandy. He was fond of the jest that the whole country celebrated his Independence Day birthday.

Neil greatly appreciated his upbringing on the Gratwick Family Estate in Linwood NY, and shared the grounds with the public each year at the Gratwick Tree Peony Walk. He continued the support of the Abbott Library of the University of Buffalo, which was dedicated to his father. Neil remained a supporter of the Gratwick Society at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

A celebration of Neil’s life will be held at a later date. Paul on July 3, 1965 in Conesus, NY. Marie was a kind and caring person and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Livonia Presbyterian Church in Livonia Center, NY for many years.

Johnathan was born July 8, 1992 at Strong Memorial Hospital. He is the youngest of two sons. He attended Livonia Central School, graduated in 2010 with a credential from The Genesee Valley BOCES in Metal Trades. After high school the attended The Hobart Institute of Welding Technology in East Troy Ohio, where he graduated with numerous welding certifications and a perfect attendance record. He then perused a career in the welding field.

Johnathan is a caring and respectful young man whose passions are his girlfriend, his niece, his music and his family. Anyone who knows Johnathan knows there isn’t any one thing he loves more than another; he just loves.

Dave was born on April 5, 1938 in Rochester, NY to parents Arthur & Mary (Buggie) Schaap. He attended Geneseo High School and then served in the US Army during the Korean Era. After his military service he attended RIT and studied Tool & Die Making. Dave married his wife Gail on May 14, 1983 and they raised their family in Scottsburg, NY.

Dave was a member of several antique car clubs including; The Nash Car Club, Livingston Antique Car Club, and the Huppmobile Club. His hobbies included restoring, driving, and enjoying antique cars.

He was a good husband and father who enjoyed spending time with family, especially family vacations. He also loved music and played the accordion for many years.

Floyd Lawrence Coon “Larry” ~ December 7, 2016

Honeoye: Passed on December 7, 2016, at age 75. Larry will be missed for his intelligence, dry humor, meticulous attention to detail and love of family.

Larry was predeceased by his father, Floyd Coon. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon A. Coon; his daughter Kristin (Boomer) Woodward; and his son Stephen (Emily) Coon, all of Honeoye. He is also survived by his grandchildren Daniel, Jesse and Jemma; his mother, Kathaleen Coon of Troy, NY; his brother, Dennis Coon, of Erie, PA; and his sisters, Nancy Coon Arnold of Sun City Center, FL, Cheryl Coon Clark of Rensselaer, NY and Janice (Michael) Sansolo of Potomac, MD. Nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Larry was born in 1941 in Syracuse, NY. As the oldest sibling, he was a teacher, friend and partner in mischief to his brothers and sisters; and spent many happy summers with them at the family’s camp on Twitchell Lake in the Adirondacks.

Trained as a Mechanical Designer, Larry found great satisfaction in his work. He held jobs across the country with numerous companies including General Electric, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Corning; working on projects from the Apollo mission to Gorilla Glass.

Through the years, he logged millions of miles driving to jobs in Ann Arbor, Poughkeepsie, Miami and other cities; and going on frequent, often spontaneous, day or weekend trips to Canada, Syracuse and beyond with his family and his wife of 50 years, Sharon Coon.

Larry loved cars, and passed along his love of motorsports to his family. As a “motocross dad,” he traveled across New York State in the 1980s to take his son Steve to races. In later years, he supported his grandson Jesse in competition karting, and was a faithful fan at club races every weekend from April to October.

He also took great joy in being part of the life of his first grandchild, Daniel, as Dan grew to young adulthood. From tee ball with Honeoye Junior Baseball to tournaments with the Alfred State baseball team, “PaPa Coon” was in the stands for virtually every game, along with his wife Sharon – cheering Dan on as they had done for their daughter Kristin throughout hundreds of high school and college sporting events.

In later years, Larry was proud to watch his granddaughter Jemma learn to ski at age four and enjoy a close connection with his beloved pet, Toby.

Larry served the Honeoye community as member of the Richmond Zoning Board of Appeals and the Town of Richmond’s Code Review Committee, from 2012 on.

Honeoye: Unexpectedly on December 2, 2016 at age 23 years. Survived by her husband Kenneth Wells; her parents Larry & Deborah Fisher II of Honeoye; her sisters, Amanda Fisher of Rochester and Sarah Fisher of FL; and her grandparents, Angelo & Helen DeBona of TN and Larry & Joanne Fisher of Kendall. Sammy was born on March 8, 1993, in Rochester NY, to Larry and Debbie Fisher. She graduated from Honeoye Central High School in June of 2011 completing the CNA program at the Finger Lakes Technical and Career Center.

Sam’s interest included making jewelry, listening to music, and enjoyed taking walks on various nature trails. Sam was kindhearted always putting others before herself. She was quick with a smile and a hug. Sam had a laid back warm personality which made people feel comfortable with her right away. Sam loved her family and always wanted the best for everyone.

Sam will be greatly and terribly missed by family and friends alike.

Wellsville: On December 1, 2016, at age 67 years, Art peacefully went to be with the Lord following his battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents John & Lillian (Pendleton) Serra, his granddaughter Mercy Abigail Cartwright, and his aunt Eleanor “Punch” Thomas. Survived by his children; Douglas (Elyse) Serra of NC, Jennifer Serra (Rich Brice) of Avon, Nicholas Serra of CO, and Melanie (Jason) Cartwright of FL. Grandchildren, Ethan, Kaley, Max, Lillianna, Devon, Christopher, Richie, David, Serenity, A’lyana, Jason Luke, and Isabella. Art was born on January 14, 1949 in Belmont, NY to parents John & Lillian Serra. He graduated from Belmont High School and lived in Wellsville for many years. Art worked at Alstom as a machinist/welder where he was known for his sense of humor and character. He had a loving heart and was always trying to give back to the community. He was a softball coach, a great listener, a hard worker, and a loving father & grandfather, even to those he was not related to.

Avon: Peacefully on November 24, 2016, at age 89 years, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. Predeceased by her husband Rensselear (Rent) D. Cranmer and her siblings; Dorothy Petrie, Betty Daniels, and Robert George. Survived by her children; Jill (James) Lynn of Livonia, John Cranmer of NC, and Larry (Everliza) Cranmer of Honeoye Falls. Grandchildren; Brandon, Joshua, and Samuel Cranmer and several nieces & nephews.

Edith worked for many years as Head Teller at Marine Midland Bank. After this, she became Secretary to the High School Principal at Avon Central School. When her husband passed away in 1982, she worked with her son, Larry, at the family business (Beam Milling Company), as Secretary and Bookkeeper.

She loved gardening (especially caring for her roses), cooking, mowing the lawn (with a cold beer afterwards), going out to lunch, reading, and puzzles. Family was extremely important to her. She loved when the whole family was together. There is nothing she enjoyed more than cooking up a huge dinner for her family. Her grandchildren were a highlight in her life. She was most happy spending time with them. Edith was a loving, caring person with a great sense of humor! She will truly be missed!!

Livonia, NY: Terry George Proctor, aged 69, died on November 23. He is survived by his cousin, Stanley Proctor and aunt, Mary “Lois” Proctor. He was predeceased by his parents George and Dorothy (Dell) Proctor. Terry graduated from Livonia Central School in 1965 and Rochester Business Institute in 1967. His great passion was the Livonia Bulldogs sports teams which he supported faithfully. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Livonia. Terry wrote a weekly column for the Clarion. In 1988 he suffered a severe stroke that affected one side of his body. Terry fought back and was able to learn to drive, walk and live independently despite the paralysis.

A Graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery, Big Tree Road, Livonia, on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 1pm. Following the graveside service, A Celebration of Terry’s Life and Faith will be at 2 pm at The United Methodist Church of Livonia, 21 Summers Street, Livonia, NY. Conesus: Unexpectedly on November 22, 2016 at age 50 years. Predeceased by her mother Michele F. Damon and her grandparents Geraldine Palma, Paul Damon Sr., and Alvin & Viola Whipple. Survived by her daughter Elizabeth Seeber of Conesus; her father, Roger Damon of Conesus; and siblings; Paul (Beth) of Rochester, James of Greece, Michael (Michelle) of Livonia, and Christopher Damon of Spencerport. Also survived by her fiancée Bill Mosher of Conesus, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Barbara was a stubborn woman who always told it like it was. Never missing the opportunity to crack a joke. She loved being in nature, going camping, and just relaxing by a camp fire. She was an animal lover, who also liked to bowl, cook, and do arts and crafts. She was a free spirited and loving woman who will be truly missed.

Hemlock: Peacefully at home on November 19, 2016 at age 84 years. Predeceased by her husband Lyle Leo Marshall in 2015, her parents Harold & Frances (Naracong) Larned, and her sister and brother-in-law, Norma & Stanley Sherman. Survived by her sons, Chris (Susan) Marshall of Naperville, IL and Scott (Kelly) Marshall of Livonia, and daughter Laurie (John) Parker of Newport News, VA. Granddaughters; Dianne Marshall, Lisa Marshall, and Stephanie (John) Schumacher.

A lifetime learner, Kay began her career as a medical secretary and earned her LPN and then RN degrees while raising her 3 children. Active in her church, she also led Cub Scout and Girl Scout troops. Her children’s friends remember the Marshall household as a welcoming and enjoyable place to visit.

Kay’s Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 26th, at 11am at the Hemlock Methodist Church, 4616 Main Street, Hemlock, NY. Burial Union Cemetery, Livonia. Veazie, Maine – Albert Gonzalo Revilla Jr., 59, died unexpectedly November 9, 2016 at his home. He was born August 3, 1957 in Denver, Colorado, the son of Albert and Charlotte (Stevens) Revilla, Sr.

In addition to his father, Albert was predeceased by his wife, Melissa Revilla. He is survived by his mother, Charlotte Revilla of Lovingston, VA; siblings, Ramon Revilla (Mary) of Williamston, NC, Suzanne Fogg (Tom) of Richmond, VA, and Linda Christopher (Alan) of Lovingston, VA; six nieces and nephews.
