William (Bill) S. Schneider of N. Fort Myers, FL./Warsaw, NY, passed away Saturday February 19,2011. Bill was born May 6, 1945 in Dalton, NY to parents, Roma (Barney) Schneider and Merlin Schneider.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Kathleen (Karns) Schneider and son, Derrick A. Schneider. Also surviving are sister, Constance (Terry) Lowell, brother, Fay (Anna) Schneider, (6) nieces-Kelley (Martin) Howard, Kimberly (Jeffrey) Flint, Patrice (James) Forrester, Amy Mann, Courtney (Alex) Marquart and Jodi Westacott, (5) nephews-Scott (Heather) Lowell, Brett (Christina) Schneider, Blake Carmichael, Michael Westacott and Gregory Westacott. He has (4) grand nieces and (9) grand nephews.

Bill graduated high school in Nunda, NY in 1963, and was drafted in the U.S. Army in 1966. While living in Warsaw, NY for most of his adult life, Bill was Vice President in Consumer Loans for Wyoming County Bank for 18 ½ years, and was a real estate broker in the Warsaw area for 16 years. Bill was active in Kiwanis and Boy Scouts of America and loved to hunt and fish. He was a friend to all who knew him and will always be remembered for his contagious laugh.

Roy J. Patterson, Jr. – March 1, 2011

Lakeville: Roy J. Patterson, Jr. 58 years, of Big Tree Road, Lakeville, NY died Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY after being admitted on Monday, February 28. He was born at Genesee Hospital, Rochester, NY May 12, 1952, the son of Roy J. and Mary Leeper Patterson. He grew up in South Livonia and was a 1970 graduate of Livonia Central School. Roy would always make sure to take the opportunities in his life and make them work for him. He opened his own general store, Split Willow Grocery, in the mid 70’s to early 80’s. He ran the store until he went on to do what he loved to do in becoming a self employed contractor. Roy loved to spend hours doing woodworking and refinishing antiques. He was truly gifted when it came to woodworking. Roy loved to spend time outdoors, working in his gardens or vacationing in the Adirondack Mountains. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Roy was a lifetime member of the Honeoye Fish and Game Club, where he was president of the club for a year and a half. He cared for his cat Sassy and dogs Baby, Budda and Misty. Roy even made sure that the birds had a place to live by putting out houses for them. Roy will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Roy was predeceased by his father, Roy J. Patterson, sister, Nadeen Patterson Walsh, infant brother Jonathan Patterson, and his Brother-in-law Scott E. McKay. He is survived by his mother Mary Leeper Patterson, loving companion, Cathy Witkousky; his step-son Mike Witkousky, Sisters and Brothers, Jill (Jeff) White, Vicki Patterson, Matthew Patterson Sr., Cindy (Ken) Akers, Lisa Patterson McKay, Ruth (Tony) Fountain, Brother-in-law Kevin Walsh. His children, Lorinda (Matt) DeCerbo, Roy (Kari) Patterson III, Nichole Cunningham, and Ryan (Rachel) Patterson and 6 grandchildren. Nieces and Nephews, Jessica (Gerard) Gramkee, Jennifer (Ray) Simzer, Matt (Samantha) Patterson, Elizabeth (Micah) Godbee, Mark Patterson, Emily Patterson, Stephanie (Patrick) Marshall, Jacinda (Tim) Hacker, Julia (Bryan Wheaton) McKay, Amanda McKay, Scotty McKay, Johathan Fountain, 7 great nieces and nephews, and step-sons David Malone and Nick Yannantuono.

Friends may call Friday 5-7 PM at Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. Routes 15 & 20A., 21 Big Tree St. Livonia, NY where services will follow the visitation at 7 PM.
