larry-boyd1Honeoye: Lawrence W. “Larry” Boyd, 46 years of Cheryl Dr. Honeoye, died Thursday July 29, 2010 at his home, following an extended illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Canandaigua, NY, June 11, 1964 the son of Jack and M. Louise Sheffield Boyd. Larry was an avid outdoorsman and very much looked forward to hunting and fishing seasons. He was a member of the Honeoye Fish and Game Club, the NRA, and the Northern American Hunting Club. He was predeceased by his father Jack Boyd.

He is survived by his mother, Louise Boyd of Honeoye; sisters, Cindy Boyd of Honeoye, and Jackie (John) White of Honeoye; brother, George (Amber) Boyd of Jacksonville, NC. grandfather, Robert Gendreau of Honeoye; nephews including, Kevin and Matt Roelofs; nieces including, Patsy Boyd. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and many close and dear friends.

Ronald J. Russell – July 26, 2010

Ronald J. Russell, 63 years, of Ace Road, Hemlock, died Monday, July 26, 2010 at his home with his wife at his side. He was born in Rochester, NY November 22, 1946 the son of William and Catherine Kerns Russell. He was employed by Gallina Development Co. and also served his country in Viet Nam with the US Army. He was predeceased by his grandson Ethan.

Harmon R. Wingate – July 24,2010

Livonia: Harmon R. Wingate, 91 years, of Big Tree St. Livonia, died suddenly Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester from injuries sustained in a fall at his home. He was born in Livonia, at the family farm house, January 3, 1919, the son of Roy and Ethel Trescott Wingate. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary Murphy Wingate, his brother and business partner, Merle P. Wingate, also infant siblings, Karl, Earl and Floyd Wingate. A life long resident of Livonia, he was employed on the family farm in his early years, and then he and brother Merle established Wingate Sand and Gravel, which operated from 1954-1984 when they ceased operations due to government regulatory issues. Harm, in later years, continued on with the work ethic instilled in him as a young man, including repairing tractors, cutting wood, and being actively involved with the Hemlock Fair, among other community projects. He also served in the Livonia Fire Department for 70 years and at one time was the Fire Chief. He was a charter shareholder of Lakeville, Avon, & Livonia Railroad and until 2 years ago, served on their Board of Directors for several terms. Harm also was a long time member of the Conesus Lake Sportsman’s Club where he remained active until his death.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Glenn and Shirley Wingate of Livonia & Gordon and June Wingate of Livonia. Several nieces and nephews.

Richard H. Mosher, 59 years, of Lakeville Road, Avon, NY, formerly of Monroe County, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Teresa House in Geneseo, after a very lengthy illness. He was born in Rochester, NY November 3, 1950, the son of Howard and Lorraine Mosher. He was a longtime Eastman Kodak employee prior to his illness. He was an avid race car fan, racing at both Watkins Glen, and Limerock Conn, among other tracks.

Richard was predeceased by his father & mother, Howard & Loraine Nusz Mosher and his brother, James Mosher. He is survived by sons, Bill (Jerridee) of Conroy, Iowa, and Brian Mosher of Avon. Grandchildren, Crystal Berstler and Billy Mosher. Sister-in-law, Annette Mosher Schurr. Nieces & nephews, Samantha, Kristoffer & Irene Mosher, Lauren (Les) Benood. William A. Brown of Geneseo died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Highland Hospital. Bill was born August 14, 1932 son of Roland and Elizabeth Hall Brown. After serving in the Navy during the Korean War, Bill worked as a Foreman for Rochester Telephone Corp. He enjoyed flying and building model airplanes, model trains, and was an antique wooden boat enthusiast. Bill, AK2D, was a Ham Radio Operator. He was an avid gardener, handyman, took pleasure in fishing and playing euchre. He loved Conesus Lake, The Gulf Coast of Florida and would search the beaches for shark teeth and sand dollars. Bill cherished his walks with Duncan.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, brother Ralph Brown; brother-in-law Robert T. Griffin; sister-in-law Virginia A. Scott; and brother-in-law Donald Herring. He is survived by wife Patricia of Geneseo, daughter Lisa (Ronald) Zielinski of Florida; step-daughter Paddy (Gary) Adamek of Cambria, NY; 4 grandchildren, Stephanie, Mackenzie and Zackery Zielinski of Florida, Jeffery Braun of Tonawanda; sisters-in-law Margaret (John) Macdonald and Jane Herring; many nieces & nephews.

Annie L. Oldershaw – July 20, 2010

Annie L. Oldershaw, age 56, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Annie was a librarian in the Irondequoit Public Libraries for over 25 years before moving to Livonia where she operated an online used book store and enjoyed walking her dogs Copper and Patrick.

She is survived by her long-time partner, Jim Mayo, parents Peter and Marion Oldershaw of Seabright, Nova Scotia, Canada, sister Eileen McKelvey (John) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and niece Laura Catalano (Jeff) of St. Louis, Missouri, her great-nephews Robbie and Charlie, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Francis H. Jischke – February 3, 2010

Francis H. Jischke of Lakeville, NY and New Smyrna Beach, FL, passed away Feb. 3, 2010 in Floriday at age 89. Fran was predeceased by his wife June, and son Jerry. He is survived by sons; Jack (Deb), Francis C. “Lanny” (Sandi), Kenneth (Jo Ann), Mark, Craig (Jackie), Daniel (Kim); 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; close friend Rita.

For many years, Fran worked as a mechanic for Ridge Lumber. He raced stock cars at the Monroe County Fairgrounds, Hemlock Fairgrounds and at a dirt track in PA. He was one of the drivers in the early years of NASCAR and he raced once on Daytona Beach. He loved to hunt, fish and go camping. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Constance ” Coonie” Mothorpe 82 years of Lakeville died Sunday night, July 11, 2010 at Teresa House in Geneseo. She was born in the Bronx, NY the daughter of Theodore and Clara Schwartz Piehnik. A graduate of Aquinas High School in NY, she furthered her studies at St. John Univerisity where she graduated as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of the former St. Joseph and Williams Faith Community until joining St. Matthew Parish where she continued to be an active member. Coonie truly appreciated the trips for medical treatment provided by her Church family.

Connie was predeceased by her husband, Richard Mothorpe; and sister, Gloria Schnall. Howard M. Ayers, 61, died peacefully July 11, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents, George S. & Vera N. Ayers of East Avon. Howard is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Wanda Rookey Ayers; Daughter Tammy (Robert) Davis of Conesus; Son, Steve Ayers (Michele Colligan) of Springwater; Beautiful grandchildren, Kendra, Rachel, Chris, Matthew, Kimberlee & Sean Colligan; Brother-in-law, Arthur L. (Jane) Rookey of Syracuse; Nephews, Michael, Jonathan & Alan Rookey; Other loving family members, including Glenda Walkley Ayers, and all his friends & fire department families.

He enjoyed camping at Skybrooke in Dansville, with dear and supportive friends. Howard was a volunteer fireman for 41 years, serving East Avon for 5 years, Lakeville, 36 years and served as Fire Chief, and most recently Springwater. He held many positions throughout his firefighting years, recently reaching his goal of becoming a committee member of FASNY. He was a life member of the Livingston County Volunteer Firemens Association, served as president and life member of the WNYVFA, life member of Livingston County Fire Chiefs Association, & charter member of the Lakeville Fire Dept. Exempt Club. Howard will be sady missed by all whose lives he touched so very deeply.

Doris M. “Dorie May” Duger of Avon died Thursday July 8, 2010 at the home of her daughter after a lengthy illness. She was born in Avon, NY May 29, 1924 the daughter of Burrell and Mary Fridd Jacobs. She was a long time member of Zion Episcopal Church In Avon. Dorie was always known as a fun loving person with a great sense of humor with many, many friends throughout the area.

M. Helen Belmont, 82 years, of Canandaigua, formerly of Honeoye, died unexpectedly July 4, 2010 at FF Thompson Hospital, in Canandaigua. She was born in Rochester, NY November 21, 1927 the daughter of Harold and Marie Turner. Helen had previously worked at Eastman Kodak Co. She was a member of the Home Bureau in Greece, and St. John the Evangelist Church in Greece. Helen was a member of the PTA at Honeoye Central School, St. Mary’s Church in Honeoye, along with the Altar and Rosary Society. She also attended St. Mary’s Church in Canandaigua and the Chapel at the VA Hospital in Canandaigua. Her children remember her as the “Best Mom Forever”.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; children, Bob (Amy) Belmont of Honeoye, Don (Pat) Belmont of Nashville, Tenn., Sue (Jim) Ras of Brockport and Anne (Jim) Dobbertin of Mendon; and seven grandchildren.

Livonia/Lima: Passed away peacefully at home after a battle with Melanoma Cancer at age 61. Rejoining his parents George E. and Barbara (Booth) Walker. Siblings Barbara Walker, Jean M. Glitch, and George D. Walker. Survived by his best friend and wife of 36 years, Donnalee (Hochadel) Walker. Children Nicole Walker of Livonia, Bryon (Julie) Walker of Henrietta and Megan (Carl) Johnson of Leicester. Proud and loving Papa to Andrew, Gavin and Molly, and Bridgitte and Cyle. A Navy Veteran, Tom was past owner of Network Industrial Tire. Previously employed by Swiftlift, working in the forklift industry for many years. He was a past member of Livingston County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, Livingston County 4-H Leader, Hemlock Fair Board, RARA (N2CPD).

Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching the wildlife on their 62 acre property. He also assisted Donna and Andrew with their Day Old Pheasants. Tom liked baling hay much to his family’s dismay. He will miss teaching his grandchildren about natures wonders.

The family would like to extend a thank you to Kathy Grentzinger, Vinnie and Joan Garofalo, Norris Holevinski, and Gaesser families, Dr. Judith Baumhauer for her expertise and care. Also all those at the Wilmot Cancer Center involved in Tom’s care…especially Dr’s Jeffery Allerton and Hong Zhang. Very special thanks to Patti Messina RN for her knowledge, compassion and humor.
