Livonia: A. Lorraine Perrin, 79 years, of Harper Parkway, Avon, NY, formerly of Livonia died Monday, October 18, 2010 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris, NY, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Retsof, NY March 7, 1931 the daughter of Walter and Helen Bailey Gregg. She was a retired employee of the Livonia Central School Cafeteria. She loved music, specifically country and western and was always very enthusiastic about, singing, dancing and karioke. She was a member of the Livonia Senior Citizens Club and the Avon XYZ Club, very often joining her fellow members on their many bus trips. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald M. Perrin in 1989.

She is survived by her long time companion, Joseph Meyer of Avon. her sons, Donald (Kathy) Perrin of Livonia; Randy (Arlene) Perrin of Johnstown, NY. 5 grandchildren, Steve, Michael, Jenny (Stephen Mac), Sarah, and Nathan. several nieces and nephews.

Piffard: John R. McAdoo, 45 years, of Genesee St. Piffard, NY (York,NY) died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Vanderbilt Univesity Medical Clinic in Nashville, Tennesee.

He was born in Warsaw, NY, September 13, 1965 the son of Richard and Rowena Cary McAdoo. He was a 1983 graduate of Pioneer High School in Arcade and went on to obtain his Bachelors Degree from Chapman University. He was married to the former Barbara Will on December 19, 1987 at Blesssed Sacrament Church in Delevan, NY. John was employed as the Vice President – Technology, at L-Mar Associates in Rochester, NY. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1987 though 1994.

Taking great pride in his childrens activities, he was active in both Boy Scouting and Girl Scouting. John was also active in the school activities where his children attended including, St. Agnes School, Avon, McQuaid Jesuit High School, Rochester, Our Lady of Mercy of High School, Rochester, and Siena Catholic Academy in Brighton.

Besides his wife, Barbara, John is survived by his children: Lauren, Alex, Ryan, and Lindsey McAdoo all at home; his parents: Richard and Rowena McAdoo of Clarence, NY; his sisters, Cheryl Haskins of Tully, NY, Barbara (Don) Stucke of East Aurora, NY. his brother, Mark (Kristy) McAdoo of Golden, CO.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Patricia Will of Machias, NY; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a large extended family of relatives and friends.

Dorothy G. West – October 16, 2010

Livonia: Died peacefully at home on October 16, 2010, surrounded by her family. She was born September 7, 1930, the daughter of Archie and Gracia Trescott Giltner, and was a life-long resident of Livonia,NY. She is predeceased by her husband Frank West in 1976 and also sisters Marion Kusnierczak, Esther Aten, Arlene McEwen, and brother Kenneth Giltner. She is survived by six children: Sally West of Geneseo, Susan (Kevin) Fitzgibbon of Livonia, Samuel (Julie) West of Livonia, Sharon West of Livonia, Sandra (Dan) Williams of Hammondsport, and Stephen West also of Livonia. Four Grandchildren, Phillip and Megan West, Bryan Fitzgibbon, and Ruby Williams. She is also survived by one brother Glenn (Janice) Giltner of Medina, NY, sister-in-law Ann Nesbitt of Geneseo, brothers-in-law Jim West and Bud West both of Livonia. Many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

As a young girl, Dorothy Jean West grew up on the East Swamp Road in Conesus. Before the age of 9, she lost both parents, was separated from her siblings, and came to know her grandmother as her primary caregiver.

Even when faced with such adversity, Dorothy made the most of what she had. She developed a love for the outdoors, and became involved in school activities. She easily made friendships that have lasted from her days at the one room schoolhouse on Sliker Hill through her 1948 graduation from Livonia Central School.

Dorothy worked for Kodak until she married her high school sweetheart, Frank West in 1953. She became a full time mother and raised six children: Sally, Susan, Samuel, Sharon, Sandra, and Stephen. When Frank died in 1976, she took over as president of West Beer Distributors. She retired in 2001 and took on her most cherished role as full time Grandma to Philip, Bryan, Megan, and Ruby.

Dorothy’s endless commitment as a wife, mother, friend, classmate, businesswoman, and grandmother has left a lasting impression and memories to fill a lifetime.

Honeoye: Le Roy E. Sammis, 84 years, of Huff Road, Honeoye, NY died Thursday October 14, 2010, at Canandaigua Veterans Hospital in Canandaigua, NY. He was born in Huntington, Long Island, NY December 9, 1926, the son of Le Roy and Margaret Lane Sammis. He served his Country in World War Two from 1944 being Honarably Discharged on April 28, 1947, as a Seaman Second Class in The US Navy. He operated his own landscape business in Honeoye for many years. Roy was a lifetime member of the Honeoye-Hemlock American Legion Post #1278 and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). He was a gifted artist, who loved animals and the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Loraine Sackett Sammis; daughter, Rachel Sammis (Jeff DeWall) of Honeoye; 2 grandchildren, Devin and Rainbow. brother-in-law, Kenneth Werder of Honeoye; sister-in-law, Ann Stonewell of West Bloomfield, NY. He was born in Gouverneur, NY, July 16, 1943. the son of Errol A. and Marguerite Hull Reamore. He graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1961, and was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He also was a gun collector and took a great deal of interest in photography. Prior to retiring, he was a tool and die maker at Bausch-Lomb in Rochester.

Hendersonville, NC, formerly of Livonia, NY – Lois B. Wingate, 79, was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 29, 2010. She was born in Lakeville, NY March 29, 1931 the daughter of Harry and Agnes Beach. Lois married George Wingate in 1948. She is survived by three daughters; Sandra (Lance) Jischke of Livonia, Cheryl (Wayne) Pletcher of Mooresville, NC, and Barb (Mike) Koral of Hendersonville, NC. She was blessed with five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Lois graduated from Livonia High School, raised a family and owned a catering business, a beauty shop and a sewing business in Livonia before her retirement. In retirement, she and George split their time between homes in Plant City, FL and Cape Vincent, NY before settling in Hendersonville, NC near her two daughters. She was a member of the Fruitland United Methodist Church. Lois enjoyed singing in the church choir and the JOY singers, volunteering, sewing, crafts, baking and spending time with her friends and family. She was a very busy lady.

A memorial service was held in NC. At a future date, she will be buried by George’s side in Union Cemetery, Livonia. Helen Marie Henry-Tobias, 78, of Crystal River, Florida, formerly of Lakeville passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2010, at Hospice of Citrus County. She was born in Pueblo, Colorado August 15, 1932, daughter of Harvey and Lenora Schroyer Richards. Her husband, John Henry Sr., and son, Ronald Henry, precede her in death. Helen retired from Kraft Foods, Avon, in 1991. She loved her family, playing and cheating at cards, sending and receiving greeting cards (never missed a birthday), crocheting, and big bowls of popcorn and potato chips. She enjoyed doing word searches, dancing, shopping, traveling and talking on the phone. She would cook spaghetti for all her boys, including Fred Nettnin and Floyd Watkins. There were numerous extended kids who called her Ma.

Survivors include sons, John (Marie) Henry, Hemlock, N.Y., and Allen (Deborah) Henry, Websters Crossings, NY; daughters, Nancy Henry, Springwater, Rhonda (Mark) Skrzypek, Lakeville, NY, and Loretta (Vicki) Pagan, Crystal River, FL; 17 grandchildren, Michelle, Jennifer, Sheryl, John, Tina, John, Brooke, Shane, Cody, Tim, Tom, Chrissy, Trisha, Lou Ann, Ed, Rose Marie, and David; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Dennis was a 1969 graduate of Caledonia-Mumford Central School and later went on to earn an Associates Degree from Finger Lakes Community College in 2006. During the Viet Nam War, he served his country in the US Navy. He was a very active member of the Avon Anglers Unlimited.

Livonia: Christopher S. Fennell, 57 years, of Stone Hill Road, Livonia, NY, formerly of Florida and Geneseo, died Friday evening, September 17, 2010 at his home, after a lengthy illness. He was born March 6, 1953 the son of James and Lucille Washburn Fennell. He was a graduate of Geneseo Central School. Prior to being disabled, he was employed by Publix Food Markets in North Palm Beach, Florida where he was the store manager. becker-quanz1Canadice: Agnes V. Becker, 86 years, of County Road 37, Canadice, NY died Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at FF Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua. She was born April 24, 1924 the daughter of Martin and Margaret Blackrick Quanz at the family home in Wayland,NY. She was predeceased by husband, Truman Becker in 1981. Agnes was a graduate of Wayland Central School, who enjoyed her family, gardening, baking, sewing and traveling. She was employed by the Ontario County Sheriffs Dept for 25 years and prior to that was employed by Agway, Honeoye Central School, Foster Wheeler and Canandaigua National Bank. She was a long time member of St. Mary’s Church in Honeoye.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Graydon) Swanson of Canandaigua; 2 grandchildren, Christina and Neil Swanson. several nieces and nephews.

Livonia: H. Beverly “Bev” Webb, 71 years, of East Lake Road, Livonia died Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the Village Green in LeRoy, NY. She was born in Canandaigua, NY December 2, 1938 the daughter of Otto and Lottie Beeman Mastin. She was a graduate of Avon Central School and was previously employed by Tom Wahl’s in Avon and J. J. Leasures in Lakeville, and was employed as an insurance agent, bookkeeper and bank teller. She and Robert G. Webb were married April 27, 1957 in Avon. Bev was a member of the Livonia United Methodist Church,The Rebekahs, and Home Bureau. Bev was avid card player, enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, raising calves, sewing, canning, freezing, and raising her family. She was a sports fan who especially enjoyed following the Livonia boys and girls basketball teams.

She is survived by her husband, Robert G. Webb; son, Bruce (Debbie) Webb of Livonia; daughter, Katharine (John Zalar) Ennis of LeRoy.4 grandsons, Michael MacLeod, Joe Webb,, Jacob and Johnny Ennis (Cammy). twin brothers, Donald (Suzanne) Mastin of Avon and Douglas (Johanna) Mastin of Ohio. aunts and uncles, Earl and Helen Mastin of Canadice, Grace Mastin of Honeoye, Irene Rowley MacPherson of Honeoye, Ivan and Virginia Mastin of Springwater. several nieces, nephews and cousins.

schreckenburgerHoneoye: Louis J. Schreckenberger Jr., 84 years, of East Lake Road, Honeoye, NY passed away Monday September 6, 2010 at FF Thompson Hospital. He was born in Buffalo, NY, September 28, 1925 the son of Louis and Catherine Fitzner Schreckenberger Sr. His wife Dolores predeceased him on May 9, 2009.
Louis served his country in the US Navy during World War II as a signalman. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Continental Baking Company as a salesman. Once retired, he spent his winters in Palm Harbor, Florida and summers on Honeoye Lake. He was an avid sports fan and outdoorsmen. He enjoyed reading and playing cards.
He is survived by his son Leon (Jan) Becigneul of Charlotte, NC and daughters, Lou Ann (Bryan) Rupert of Webster and Peggy (Kurt) Taylor of Honeoye. 6 grandsons, Shawn, Paul, Christopher, Gregory, Michael and Andrew. 3 great grandsons, Cameron, Owen and Evan.
